5/2/2012RVC Keeps Cool at Kool April Nites
Despite temperatures in the 90’s, Rogue Valley Corvettes was front and center –and very cool – during Redding’s 2012 Kool April Nites.
Redding hosted over 2000 classic cars and trucks at the 23rd Annual event and a dozen RVC Corvettes joined in the fun.
On Friday night for the cruise, RVC joined our friends at The California Organized Redding Vette Set (C.O.R.Vette Set) at Marie Calendar’s. By the time the cruise started we had over 50 Corvettes parked at the restaurant.
RVC was featured in a local TV news team’s live remote broadcast before the cruise. RVC President Dan Richards was interviewed about Kool April Nites and did his sworn duty to mention the club at every opportunity.
On Saturday the classic cars moved to the Redding Convention Center and RVC was again in the spotlight when Richards’ 1962 Corvette was chosen Kool Car of The 60’s.
“The 62 has won a number of awards since Dave Stickland, Tony Wiggins and Colin Carnegie restored it, but none has been more surprising than the win in Redding. To be selected out of 2000 beautiful cars is truly an honor,” Richards said.
In addition to the classic cruise and car show, RVC members enjoyed some great Camaraderie in the hospitality suite hosted by Cyndi Powell. We had a great dinner as a group at Cattlemen’s on Saturday. And we really enjoyed a great weekend together at one of the West Coast’s biggest car events.
Kool Aril Nites was, well, very cool.
