5/7/2012RVC Presidents Letter - May 2012
Dear Members,
We just witnessed the coolest April in Rogue Valley Corvettes’ history. And it had nothing to do with our weather.
April was unlike any month this club has experienced. We started with a tremendous turnout at the North Valley High School Skills USA Car Show. The following weekend 10 of our cars went to Redding for Kool April Nights. The weekend after that – the third weekend in a row, if you’re scoring at home – we brought a fleet of Corvettes to the Eagle Point High Skills USA Car Show and had a great time with Rogue Valley’s Mustang and Classic Ford members.
And while our club was in Eagle Point, Lori Hale was taking in the National Corvette Museum experience. She had a wonderful time in Bowling Green.
In April, we drove our cars to one of the West Coast’s coolest car events. We supported two great Skills USA programs. We reached across factory boundaries and had a wonderful time with our new Mustang friends. And one of our members toured the NCM and Corvette Assembly Plant. That, ladies and gentlemen, is Camaraderie, Corvettes and Community just like we drew it up.
Hopefully, each of you was able to enjoy at least part of RVC’s outstanding April.
Not to be outdone by April, the month of May has gotten off to a tremendous start. John Warren has us on schedule with the Fall Classic – he has (very cool) t-shirts for sale and is busily making preparations for the show.
If you missed our May meeting at TC Chevy, you missed a refreshing and very welcoming experience. TC is anxious to be our partner – and it shows. The Fall Classic will be a good fit at their facility, their newly remodeled showroom is ours if we ever need it, and they’re making it clear they want to be our dealership. TC has already purchased new RVC banners for us. And they’re offering all RVC members 10% off Parts and Service at their dealership.
TC Chevy’s Service Department has a tremendous reputation. Their Sales Team is outstanding to work with. And they’re excited about RVC.
I encourage all of you to visit the dealership – and to think of TC first when you need parts, service or a new Chevy.
We have a pretty good sized group heading to Laguna Seca this month. The Corvette Racing Team will be there – and so will RVC. That high-pitched scream you hear will be Cyndi, riding shotgun in The 62 as we navigate the Corkscrew.
On May 17th, our Mustang friends will host their Third Thursday Cruise In at Debby’s Diner. We should make a group effort to show up for that. I owe their President an ice cream – and he owes me one.
Let’s hope every month is as cool as April was.
Sincerely,
Dan Richards
